Canadian-American violinist Alison Luthmers received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Colburn School in Los Angeles, and after moving to Sweden in 2012 went on to pursue her long-standing love of Baroque violin. She now performs throughout Europe and the US with ensembles such as Concerto Copenhagen (Denmark), Barokksolistene (Norway), Camerata Øresund, (Denmark), Arte dei Suonatori (Poland) and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (UK).

She is a founding member of several period instrument chamber groups, including Ensemble Prima Vista, Ensemble Cheron and the Arborea Trio, and recently started BookJam, a series of informal chamber music concerts at a bookstore in Malmö. Alison is also a two-time recipient of a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts for her study of the connection between folk music, early music and dance in Scandinavia.
